This beach is truly stunning, but what truly stood out was the exceptional staff that keep this place running smoothly. Mindy, in particular, was absolutely amazing! Despite the sweltering heat, she remained cheerful and helpful while directing traffic. Kudos to Mindy for her outstanding work! Unfortunately, we encountered some technical difficulties when attempting to complete an ICE form, but overall the Eglin team and FSS staff were fantastic.

The beaches were truly remarkable! The serenity of the place was unparalleled, especially when compared to the other crowded beaches in Destin. This spot has definitely won my heart, and if I ever visit Destin again, I know where to head straight away. It's just a shame that we discovered it on our last day of the trip. Nevertheless, the $5 parking fee was a small price to pay for the experience we had. We were also required to present our ID, which was a small inconvenience in the grand scheme of things.

The Elgin Beach Park is an absolute delight! The sprawling, immaculate beach is made up of pristine, powdery sand that resembles sugar. The water is so clear that you can easily see the schools of minuscule fish swimming around in the shallow waters near the shore. To enter the beach, you'll need a DOD ID card, and parking costs $5 per vehicle. If you need to rent beach chairs or umbrellas, they are available for $5 each. The restrooms are spotlessly clean and well-stocked. My husband and I had a great time building sandcastles on the beach with our two grandchildren. This is a highly recommended destination for anyone seeking a relaxing day at the beach.

The beach was passable, but not particularly impressive. It was deserted, which made it feel like a desolate wasteland rather than a relaxing escape. The sand and water were adequate, but lacked the sparkle and allure of a truly exceptional beach. We arrived later in the afternoon, which was fortunate since the beach closed relatively early in the evening. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience.
