Fanshell Outlook is a great spot to get a view of the small bay. Also, your last stop before going into the woods where there are no more beaches. I prefer Fanshell Beach itself for the clean sand and abundance of fanshells and abalone shells. It's a really good beach to take your dogs as well.

It was part of the 17 mile drive. It's a hike from spanish bay I believe. The hike wasn't bad, it was durable, sandy/grassy. Lots of sight seeing spots while on this hike up to fanshell beach. Loved it.

This is an amazing stop on the 17 mile drive. The rocks in the front generate strong splashes of waves. There are stairs to the beach below and this sand was yellowish instead of the white one I had become used to in Monterey-Carmel. Tiny colourful flowers are abundant in the area. On the opposite side you'll see beautiful private golf courses and gigantic cypress trees. I could feel the richness of the area. Would be great to settle down here in old age!

Secluded beach, playful sea otters, and beautiful bluffs all added to what was one of the most beautiful sunsets I have seen in the world! A must-see stop during the 17-Mile Drive. Try to go on a weekday for a more serene and private experience.
