Our visit on a weekday afternoon in August was met with minimal crowds, encountering just a handful of other beachgoers. The journey to the beach was a pleasant stroll, offering a gentle and enjoyable walk.

When we went to the beach, there was a certain enigmatic atmosphere and an endless expanse of sand to stroll along while taking in the power of the Pacific Ocean. The parking situation was ample and the flora was stunning - it could easily be considered one of my top destinations globally.

This beach used to be my absolute favorite spot on Earth because of the peaceful campsites nestled under the cypress grove by the lagoon. Despite being there during busy holiday weekends like Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day, it was always quiet and isolated with only the distant sound of the crashing waves. Unfortunately, it's no longer open for camping due to visitor abuse. It's a special and almost mystical place where the Spirit seems to linger and inspire sacred dreams.

This beach is truly a gem! Stretching for miles, it begins just north of the Point Arena Lighthouse and boasts impressive dunes that separate it from the highway. There are two excellent parking options, both marked with beach access signs before and after the town of Manchester. The southern lot requires a lengthy stroll through the picturesque dunes - a distance of approximately 3/4 of a mile - so be prepared to carry your belongings through the fine sand. Although the beach itself has beautiful sand, it can be quite chilly and windy, making it less than ideal for sunbathing. However, it's perfect for leisurely walks, birdwatching, and admiring the abundance of driftwood. Keep your eyes peeled for deer sightings in the southern part of the dunes, as these are not uncommon. Despite its many charms, this beach is rarely crowded, ensuring a peaceful and serene experience.
