It was absolutely amazing! We drove from one coast to the other and couldn't resist the urge to touch the ocean in California. Luckily, there's parking right next to the pathway, making it super convenient to trek down to the shore. A local informed us that there was also a path to go up for a breathtaking eagle view, but due to time constraints, we only had the chance to do one hike and our priority was to experience the water.
We visited in early October and initially, the beach was engulfed in dense fog, obscuring any view beyond it. However, as we started walking, the fog gradually lifted, revealing a truly incredible vista. The view became even more stunning when we hiked back up to the top, so if possible, I highly recommend taking the higher path as well!
Although the parking lot may appear busy, there are a couple of stores and a deli across the street. Surprisingly, the actual beach itself was not crowded when I was there. It felt like a more secluded area.
