This stunning beach is a must-see destination, but it's important to plan ahead and secure reservations before visiting. The wild waves in January were truly impressive, but they rolled in fast and made swimming unsafe. However, taking a leisurely stroll through the fascinating lava tube is an absolute must-do activity.

It is highly recommended to make a reservation prior to visiting this beach as it can get quite crowded. The scenery is breathtaking with a staircase leading down to the sandy shore. Unfortunately, the beach is not suitable for wheelchair users due to its lack of accessibility. Swimmers should exercise caution as the water has a sudden drop-off.

The scenery is absolutely stunning, with awe-inspiring views that will take your breath away. The black sand beach is a sight to behold, and the crystal-clear waters are incredibly inviting. The Lava tubes are fascinating to explore, and the historic walking trail is a must-see. This destination has it all, making it an ideal place to spend a few hours or even a whole day. However, it's important to note that admission must be reserved in advance, as walk-ins are not allowed. Don't miss out on this incredible experience!

The entirety of the location is worth roughly an hour of your time. It doesn't come off as a place that's solely meant for tourists, but it does tend to receive more attention than necessary. If you haven't had the opportunity to witness a beach with black sand, then naturally, it can be quite remarkable.

If you're planning a trip to Hana, make sure to add the black sand beach to your itinerary. It's an absolute must-see! However, keep in mind that reservations are required and we witnessed a few unfortunate souls being turned away without one. Luckily, the reservation process is simple and the fee is nominal. Despite its popularity, the beach wasn't overly crowded, allowing us to fully appreciate the stunning scenery. In addition to the beach itself, there are also several trails to explore. And for those who require it, there is a bathroom on site. Overall, the black sand beach is a truly unique and unforgettable destination.
