Makena Beach, comprising of Big Beach and Little Beach, is a stunning, unspoiled coastline on Maui that is a must-visit. We had the pleasure of exploring the Big Beach early in the morning and it felt like our own private paradise. The beach boasts of soft, yellow sand and crystal-clear water in shades of blue and emerald, making it one of the most beautiful beaches in Hawaii. The waves crashing against the lava rocks added to the charm of the place. We were pleased to find some food trucks across the road to the parking lot, offering delicious treats. The admission fee of $10 for car and $5 for each person is reasonable, considering the beauty of the beach. We highly recommend a visit to Makena Beach while in Maui.

This so-called beautiful beach in Hawaii is just like any other beach, with sand and waves. Sure, it might be one of the most beautiful beaches in Hawaii, but who really cares? The lifeguard is probably just there to watch people drown, and the admission fee is just another way for them to squeeze money out of tourists. Families with kids might as well just stay home and save their money.

The beach is truly remarkable, as advertised. However, it's important to note that there's a strong current, so it's crucial to keep a watchful eye on your children. Additionally, parking is limited and requires payment of $10 for your vehicle and $5 per person. Fortunately, an attendant is available to assist with credit card payments or you can use the Masterpark app to pay by phone. There are two lifeguard stations on the main beach, both of which are fully staffed. We had a fantastic time during our visit. If you venture towards the rocky outcroppings, you'll be able to spot a variety of marine life for snorkeling. We even saw turtles and octopuses! Overall, it was a splendid day at an exceptional beach.

The beach is an absolute stunner with its breathtaking views and colossal waves that are perfect for surfing. Unfortunately, we were greeted with a red flag alert on our visit, which meant no swimming or even getting close to the shore break due to the dangerous conditions. However, it's still a wonderful spot to soak up the sun and work on that golden tan. As for parking, we lucked out and managed to snag a free spot on the roadside. Overall, despite the red flag warning, we still had an incredible time at this picturesque beach.
