I was saddened by my visit to this place, as it was supposed to be bustling with people enjoying the stunning black sand beach. However, the eruption in 2018 put an end to that. Nevertheless, it is definitely a place worth visiting!

Before being engulfed by lava in 2018, the beach boasted a pier and boat launch. Additionally, a portion of the parking and picnic grounds were also claimed by the lava. What remains now is solely the primary parking area and the captivating black sand beach. The beach itself is characterized by its rocky terrain and scorching sand. Due to the powerful waves, swimming is not particularly recommended. Nevertheless, this destination offers an enjoyable experience for those who wish to explore and appreciate the picturesque beauty of the beach.

We couldn't locate a beach that had rocky and turbulent waves. However, we did come across some small spots with thermal water where one could unwind and lounge. Additionally, there is a designated area on the "beach" clearly indicating that trespassing is prohibited.

When we went to the beach, we noticed that it had a rocky shoreline and the waves were quite strong. It was the first black sand beach we visited on the island. Unfortunately, we couldn't locate the hot spring that was mentioned on the map and by other reviewers.

The journey to reach this park has become much longer due to the lava covering several important roads, but it's still a scenic drive along the coastline, so I can't really complain! This is the only remaining location where you can find hot springs after Ahalanui Beach Park was engulfed by lava. It's a small beach with black sand.
