Latest reviews on Hawaii's beaches

Ke'Ei Beach
10 Ryder J.

This place is perfect for cliff jumping or heading down to the sandy section for families with young children and sunbathing.

Manini'owali Beach

This beach was an absolute delight. It offers a fantastic opportunity for boogie boarding, but we chose to frolic in the waves instead, which was just as thrilling. The parking lot is of a decent size, with at least 20 spots available, but if you're willing to walk a bit, there are other options. We arrived around 3 pm, just as people were leaving, and managed to snag a great spot. The water was crystal clear and free of any murkiness. The waves were quite strong and managed to push me under a couple of times, so if you're bringing children, be sure to keep a watchful eye on them. While the ocean is relatively shallow when you first step in, be cautious as the tide can quickly sweep you into deeper waters.

Kikaua Point Park
10 Miss Elara

The serene waters of the beach during winter are truly a sight to behold. It's a perfect spot for families with young ones, as the calm waves make for a safe and enjoyable experience. The snorkeling is a treat, although traversing the shallow waters and lava rocks can prove to be a challenge. But fear not, for the amenities are top-notch with well-maintained bathrooms, refreshing showers, and plenty of shade trees to relax under. A visit to this beach promises a memorable and rejuvenating time for all.

Two Step Beach

This is a lovely destination to explore! Show respect and have a great time at the Bay. The official name of this beach is Honaunau Beach, hence its location on Honaunau Beach Rd. The local community finds it quite disrespectful to refer to it as Two Steps Beach, especially considering that their families have resided in the neighboring land for five or more generations. However, you'll be treated to breathtaking sights of various marine creatures, and if you're lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of dolphins or turtles in the vicinity.

Kailua Kona Beach

2023: Once again, this beach area remains a delightful destination. Ample parking is available, and there is plenty of space for all visitors. Numerous lava flows provide excellent photo opportunities and exploration. 2022: We decided to visit this beach at sunset. The evening we chose was ideal - the crowd was minimal, and the beach appeared pleasant. While not as pristine as some other beaches we had been to, it was still enjoyable.

Keiki Beach

The directions provided by Google to reach the beach are not entirely accurate as they lead you through a gated community. To actually get there, you need to head north and hike down. However, during our visit, we were fortunate enough to spot some turtles.
