Latest reviews on Kastraki's beaches

Plaka Beach
10 Aerion Kallias

Why go to the Caribbean when we have the beautiful beaches of Greece so close to us in Europe? Plaka beach is our favorite in Naxos, along with Agia Anna beach. The beach is incredibly long, taking about 45-60 minutes to walk its entire length, and has fine to grainy white sand. On this side of the island, the wind is much calmer compared to the southern part. From Agia Anna to halfway down the beach, there are some restaurants on the back street with beach chairs. Beyond that, the beach becomes more natural with occasional hotels and restaurants. We came across 3 or 4 nudist areas along the beach, making it quite inclusive. I highly recommend taking the bus to get there, as a round trip ticket costs less than 5€, while renting a car will set you back at least 50€ per day, not to mention the expensive petrol at 2€ per liter. The last bus drops you off at approximately halfway down the beach.

Maragkas beach
10 Kieran Andersson.

This stunning beach is located to the south of Naxos town and boasts an impressive stretch of sand. A bike ride of just 30 minutes is well worth the effort to reach this idyllic spot.

Orkos beach
10 Soren Kallias

This beach is absolutely stunning and my personal favorite on Naxos due to the gorgeous sand and sea. However, it can be quite windy for sunbathing compared to other beaches. It stretches for about 1km and is located right after the popular Plaka beach, making it a hotspot for windsurfers. Although we walked here from Agios Prokopios (which was quite a long walk), there is a dirt road for access and apparently an asphalt road that connects to Naxos Town, which is about 10km away. Walking along the beaches on either side is a fantastic experience and the scenery is breathtaking. During our visit in early May, which was the start of the season, it was peaceful and quiet.

Hawaii beach
10 Sara Lee

The beach is amazing, but there aren't any beach bars with organized services, so you should bring your own umbrella. Nevertheless, it's definitely worth a visit. To reach the beach, you need to navigate a narrow path between some rocks, but it's not too challenging as long as you're cautious.

Agios Prokopios beach
8 Sarina Aziza

This stunning beach boasts ample space for visitors to soak up the sun, with an abundance of convenient parking options available. While some of the sunbeds may show signs of wear and tear, they are still reasonably priced, especially towards the end of peak season. Though the surrounding restaurants may not be top-tier, they offer a decent selection of lunch options to satisfy hunger after a day of seaside fun.

Agia Anna beach
10 Astrid Sjoberg

When venturing to Naxos, a visit to Agia Anna is an absolute must. This quaint yet captivating beach boasts a plethora of delectable dining options to savor while soaking up the sun. Don't miss out on this hidden gem during your travels.
