Latest reviews on Alvor's beaches

Prainha Beach
10 Nikolai Kowalski

This beach is my top pick in the area. It's particularly stunning during low tides, with breathtaking cliffs and natural arches. The beach is enclosed and there's a decent cafe/bar available.

Praia dos Tres Castelos

Without a doubt, this destination is a must-see and deserves at least a full day of your time. The stunning rock formations that line the beach are a sight to behold and will captivate you from start to finish. The water is crystal clear and the beach is impeccably clean, leaving you with no other option but to revel in every moment spent here.

Barranco do Martinho

The path leading to the beach is quite challenging to navigate. It is steep, narrow, and poses a slight risk to those who are not confident in their footing. To aid in locating the entrance, I have included photos for reference. After disembarking from the wooden walkway, follow the slender trail downwards. However, once you arrive, the beach is a sight to behold. It is a serene and secluded paradise, surrounded by natural beauty. The only downside is the occasional interruption by groups of kayakers, which can disrupt the peaceful atmosphere.

Praia de Porto de Mos

This beach is absolutely stunning, particularly during windy weather. The waves are truly impressive during high tide. 🙌😎

Praia de Dona Ana
10 Saren Frazao

It's quite interesting how the presence of rocks around a beach can add to its charm. In my humble opinion, the coastline of Lagos is unparalleled in its beauty. I am already looking forward to my next visit where I plan to explore the area with kayaks.

Praia da Rocha

The beach is an absolute gem, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our stay here was a beautiful blend of tranquil days and invigorating ones, with the occasional gust of wind and waves that added to the charm of the place. The vigilant lifeguards kept a watchful eye on the beachgoers, and on certain occasions, they had to prohibit swimming due to safety concerns. However, this was a welcome measure, ensuring the well-being of all visitors. For the surfing enthusiasts, the waves were a tad challenging, posing a thrilling test of skill and determination. Despite the difficulties, the surfers persevered, and the sight of them catching a good wave was a sight to behold. As the end of September approached, the beach was not overly crowded, providing ample space for everyone to bask in the sun and enjoy the scenery. However, the water temperature was a bit chilly, ranging from 16.8-20.3C, but this did not deter the brave souls who ventured into the sea.
