Koh Chang Beach

It's hard to put into words, but this place is truly one-of-a-kind, albeit in a strange way. We stayed for two nights and found the beach to be incredibly beautiful and untouched, although it could use some shade and the sunbeds were a bit rusty. The hotel itself is quite old and not the cleanest, but the rooms are filled with natural light and have a charming atmosphere in the morning. The food was decent, although the hotel's restaurant could use more variety. Given the remote location of the hotel, it's understandable that they may not have a wide selection of food available. Speaking of remote, this place is really far away from everything. If you want to explore other areas, you'll need to budget for a taxi every night. While there were people on scooters, the road is poorly lit and can be a bit dangerous at night. This destination seems perfect for families with children who prefer a relaxing week at the beach and don't plan on venturing too far. P.S. I can't help but feel that the old boat has an eerie presence, but then again, that adds to the intrigue!

This stunning and small island is located in the southeast of Koh Chang. To get there, you can either rent a kayak or use an engine boat service. It only takes about 30 minutes of paddling with a kayak to reach the beautiful beaches. Since the island is a National Park, you will need to purchase a ticket. The ranger will collect the payment once you arrive at the beach. The fee is 40 baht for Thai nationals and 200 baht for foreigners. There is a narrow strip of land that separates the two beaches on the island. The beach on the south side is equipped with a floating pontoon. It's a wonderful journey through nature, with crystal clear waters just a short distance away from Koh Chang.

Wai Chaek Beach is undoubtedly the most breathtaking and stunning beach on Koh Chang. It can be effortlessly located on Google Maps, but reaching it can be quite challenging as the only way to access it is by traversing a rough, unpaved road. I highly suggest using a 4x4 or a sturdy motorbike as the road can be steep and treacherous in certain areas, making it unsuitable for inexperienced riders. It's also essential to carry adequate supplies such as water, food, and other necessities as there are no shops, restaurants, or restrooms in the vicinity. Despite these challenges, the beach's unparalleled beauty makes it a must-visit destination.

What I like: This beach is a beautiful and peaceful destination, perfect for those looking for a tranquil getaway. The highlight of the area is the stunning white sand beach, which offers a wide and spacious stretch for sunbathing and relaxation. Personally, I love lounging under the shade of a fiddle-leaf fig tree while soaking up the sun. Additionally, the crystal-clear water is a major attraction, providing a refreshing and inviting spot for swimming and snorkeling. What I don't like: However, it is quite disheartening to see littered water bottles scattered across the sand. It really takes away from the beach's natural beauty. Hopefully, efforts will be made to ensure that the beach remains clean and pristine.
