Latest reviews on Olema's beaches

Drake beach
10 Nash Ryder

This beach offers a picturesque drive through lush green hills and pastures, leading to sandy cliffs that overlook a beach filled with elephant seals and giant banana slugs. It's a must-visit for those who love exploring and sightseeing.

Limantour Beach
10 Ricard Vachette

We've been visiting this amazing, expansive beach for more than 15 years. The main area and parking lot can get quite busy on weekends, but if you head southeast or start from the dog section, you'll find miles of deserted beach (just be aware that some dogs may be off-leash). It's a great spot to watch the sunset or spot whales, and sometimes you can even see elephant seals or porpoises. You can access the beach via several trails, including some of the Pt Reyes National Seashore campgrounds.

Kelham Beach
10 Marco Garcia

This beach is perfect for those who prefer secluded spots. Even during peak season in July, the crowds are minimal, with no more than 10 people around.

Drakes Beach

This beach is definitely one of the best I've been to. When we arrived on a Monday morning around 11 am, there was not a single soul in sight. We had the whole place to ourselves for a solid 30 minutes or so. The water felt incredibly clean and refreshing against our feet. What caught my attention the most was the picturesque appearance of this beach. The cliffs and pristine golden sand were a sight to behold, and it wasn't windy enough for the sand to be blowing all over the place. It was quite photogenic. Right in front of the parking area, there is a small pond where several ducks can be found. The restrooms are conveniently located inside the visitor center.

Wildcat Beach

The beach offers a charming setting with coarse sand that meets the rugged cliff. However, it's important to note that during high tide, reaching Alamere falls on foot may prove to be a challenge.
