Pt. Reyes has better beaches than this one. However, the hike in from the Sky Trailhead was the highlight of our visit. It's not recommended to do the hike in the cold months, but on a hot day like yesterday, it was perfect as most of the trail is shaded. Just before the steep stairs to the beach, there is a large Eucalyptus tree that provides shade and is a great picnic spot. We spoke with some hikers from the Sierra Club there and got some ideas on making a loop back to the Sky Trailhead. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough time to pursue the loop, but we plan on doing it in the future. If you're interested in going to the beach, it's a short trip down with some obstacles depending on the season, and there's at least one large log to sit on if you're not a fan of sand.

This beach is perfect for those who prefer secluded spots. Even during peak season in July, the crowds are minimal, with no more than 10 people around.

As I arrived at Kelham Beach, the scenery was breathtaking and it gave me the impression that Spring had already arrived. It's always a delight to witness wildlife thriving in their natural environment. Upon descending the staircase, I was greeted by a magnificent elephant seal basking in the warm sun.

The beach is peaceful, secluded, and stunning. It may not be suitable for everyone as it involves a lengthy trek to get there, but the effort is definitely worth it.
