The waters are calm and safe for children, and the beach is clean. The pictures were taken during low tide. The locals are friendly, and you can reach the beach by driving straight until the road ends. You will see a tree, and then drive past it. We paid a guy 2000 colones to watch our car, and he took our name and cell number for emergencies. While on the beach, it is best to stay on the left side, as the right side has giant inflatables in the water and a cordoned-off section. On the left side, you will see rocks, and during low tide, it is safe to cross over to playa Blanca. The sand is white and clean, but the surf can be rough, like the rest of the Pacific. I want to emphasize the right and left sides because the right side seems to be private.

Finding a beach was easy since Playa Mantas is conveniently located outside the pool exit of Hotel Punta Leona. Security guards are present, possibly to prevent locals from entering the hotel premises and to ensure residents can return. Despite this, the atmosphere at the beach is relaxed and the locals enjoy having picnics, barbecues, and playing music. While it's not a bad option, I would suggest taking the in-house shuttle bus to Playa Blanca, which is a nicer beach and officially part of the hotel if you're staying at Punta Leona. However, Mantas is a great spot for sunset photos.
