6 Pleasant

The beach located near Kalotaritissa is pleasant, and can be accessed by following path 1 upon reaching Kalotaritissa. The beach is situated on a rocky area, and is composed of sand and pebbles. However, it is worth noting that even during high season, the beach remains deserted.

Accessing this beach proved to be quite challenging as the path leading to it is lengthy and poorly marked. The descent to the beach itself is quite thrilling, as we ended up landing on a scree. However, once we arrived, we were greeted with a stunning and completely natural pebble beach nestled in a breathtaking stretch of coastline. Unfortunately, the locals seem to neglect the cleanliness of the beach, as it was covered in tar and litter during our visit. Despite these drawbacks, I still have fond memories of this beach, but it does require a certain level of fortitude to brave the conditions.

2 Very poor

We tried out a variety of beaches during our stay, but ultimately settled on one that was marked on the official Donoussa Island Map at the Port. However, upon arriving at the beach, we were disappointed to find it littered with garbage. Despite its initial appearance as a beautiful and secluded spot, the amount of waste present was truly shocking. While it's not uncommon for beaches on the north side of the island to accumulate some litter due to the waves, the extent of the trash on this beach was alarming. It was clear that this wasn't just a recent issue, but rather a problem that had persisted for years. We couldn't help but wonder why the island's municipal authorities and tourism offices weren't doing more to monitor the beaches listed on their maps. All in all, it was a disappointing experience and a sad reflection of the state of this otherwise beautiful island.

4 Frustrating

Although the view from the top was stunning, the journey down to the isolated beach proved to be challenging. Unfortunately, upon arrival, we discovered that the water and shoreline were littered with debris that had washed ashore. Disheartened by the state of the beach, we promptly departed.

Ammoudi is a beach with small pebbles located at the start of Xilobati. To get there from Stavros, follow path No. 1 towards Kalotaritissa. After 900 meters, you'll see a wooden door on the left. Open it and continue towards Xylobatis. Be aware that the path beyond this point is not clearly marked.
