Trochalou Beach, situated before Karavopetra on the road from Paleochora, is a hidden gem worth exploring. The beach is entirely composed of stones, and these stones are not just any stones; they are impressively large and beautifully rounded, having been smoothed by the constant action of the sea. The lack of shade may seem like a disadvantage, but it is an opportunity to bask in the sun or create your own shade. If you are lucky, you may find some natural shade from the rocks that form the cove. Although it may not be a popular tourist destination, it is a lovely spot to take a break while heading to Gialos/Grammeno and other western points.

The shoreline of this particular beach is quite pebbly, however, the water itself is absolutely delightful. I did not catch sight of any aquatic creatures during my visit.
