While it may not be the most outstanding beach in Bali, this serene spot offers a peaceful respite and a chance to witness skilled surfers in action. The sand here is a striking black hue, and visitors can park their vehicles along the dirt road without any hassle. As you make your way towards the beach, you'll spot water buffalo leisurely grazing on the lush fields. The surrounding area is dotted with vibrant orange pandan fruit and towering palm trees. Unlike other beaches in the region, there are no bustling piers or boardwalks, and you won't find vendors selling lounge chairs. I personally visited this beach solely for the resort, and did not take a dip in the water. At low tide, the rocky landscape may not be the most picturesque, but it's still worth a visit for those seeking a tranquil escape.

This beach is a great spot for those who are just starting out with surfing, as well as those who are more experienced. However, if you're not interested in surfing, there isn't much to do here. The only downside is that the local surfers can be a bit bothersome at times. Overall, it's a lovely place to catch some waves and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Medewi Beach is a unique and captivating destination that offers something special for everyone. With its stunning black sands and gentle streams that flow into the sea, it's a surfer's paradise that also offers a peaceful retreat for those who simply want to soak up the sun and listen to the soothing sounds of the ocean. One of the highlights of our trip was watching local fishermen catch shrimp on our first morning there. Even though we're not surfers, we still enjoyed the opportunity to spend the night right on the beach, surrounded by the calming sounds of the waves. Unfortunately, the facilities at Medewi Beach are currently disused due to the impact of Covid-19 on the tourism industry. However, it's clear that this place was once a popular spot for travelers and surfers alike, and we hope that it will soon regain its former glory and once again support the local economy. As we gazed out at the breathtaking left surf break in the morning, we couldn't help but feel optimistic about the future of Medewi Beach. With its natural beauty and undeniable charm, it's only a matter of time before this once-thriving destination is buzzing with tourists once again.

As previously mentioned by fellow beach-goers, this location is ideal for surfing enthusiasts but not recommended for those seeking a leisurely swim. It is important to note that there are no available sun loungers, and the waves may not be suitable for novice surfers. However, it is still a delightful experience to observe the experienced surfers in action and savor a refreshing sunset beverage.

I adore this beach as it is not overcrowded, allowing me to enjoy the waves without any interruptions. The surfing here is simply amazing! The atmosphere is tranquil and relaxed, perfect for unwinding. However, if you are not fond of rocky beaches, this particular stretch may not be your cup of tea.
