Gorgeous coastal area and an amazing spot for Scuba Diving. Finding a parking spot can be quite challenging, especially during peak holiday times, so it's advisable to arrive early if you want to park closer to the beach. The entire region is part of the Batemans Bay Marine Reserve, meaning no fishing or collecting of any kind is allowed.
Our usual diving route starts at the "shothole" (located to the left of the island when viewed from the car park) and involves circling around the island to resurface on the bay side, which offers a smooth and shallow exit. Stingrays, nudibranchs, and numerous wrasse can usually be spotted swimming around. When diving, caution is advised when navigating around the southern tip of the island, as it's easy to mistakenly turn too soon and end up in a rocky area exposed to rough seas if there's a strong surge.
During low tide, it's possible to walk across to the island and climb to the top for a fantastic view, but be sure to return before the water level rises. The climb may not be suitable for those with mobility issues or very young children, as there is a risk of falling.
