Coral Bay in October 2023 was the ideal spot for a peaceful family vacation. The People's Park offers accommodations right on the beach.

The beach is stunning with crystal-clear water and soft, white sand, but it can get crowded with tourists. The shallow sea is perfect for children to play in safely, and there are plenty of seagulls around. Kids love spending hours here, and there is a water source near the public toilets for washing up.

The beach is stunning on a sunny day, but sadly, all the coral is no longer alive. This was due to a cyclone in March coinciding with coral spawning, which led to oxygen depletion in Coral Bay and the subsequent death of the coral. Good coral can still be found just 300 meters south or a kilometer north. It may take a few years, but the coral will eventually return. (as of August 2022)

The beach can get quite crowded, so watch out for pedestrians and kids on bikes on the main street between the beach and campsites. It's a beautiful spot, ideal for snorkeling.

The beach has the largest coral reef I've ever seen, right there on the shore. Head left along the beach to the reef, where you'll find the perfect spot for snorkeling and admiring the beautiful, colorful corals. Have fun!
