Mappatella beach

The beach, located in the central part of the city, is actually quite decent for a public beach. Contrary to what some reviewers have said, there are indeed toilet and shower facilities available. The water in the shower is cold, just like any other public beach. The toilet is a basic portable one, without any luxurious features, similar to what you would find at other public beaches. In terms of cleanliness, it is not any dirtier than the majority of other public beaches in Italy or elsewhere in Europe. The Naples municipality provides free umbrellas, and during our visit on a Saturday morning, there were still at least seven available out of the total ten. Even when we left around 2pm, there were still a couple of free umbrellas, and they were never all taken. If you need a chair, you can rent one, or you can rent an umbrella if all the free ones are taken, although I doubt that would happen. The beach was definitely not crowded. Overall, it was quite decent, although it's important to note that it is a small beach within the city, so don't expect long stretches of white sandy beach. There are no cafes to sit down, but along the promenade, there are stalls where you can get a cold drink and such. I must agree with others that the views are fantastic!

It's a great spot to spend the evening and catch a stunning sunset. However, we did witness an incident where someone had their belongings stolen. So, it's important to stay vigilant and keep an eye on your belongings at all times.

Although slightly dirty, the beach was surprisingly cleaner than what I had anticipated for a crowded area like this. Perhaps I have become accustomed to beaches in other countries... We had the opportunity to swim and explore the surroundings with a sense of safety. Despite the beach being crowded, there was enough space in the water to maintain a comfortable distance from others. Additionally, there are a few spots where you can sit with your feet either dipping into the water or right above it. There are also seating options available on the side or on the rocks. Swimming is possible on both sides of the beach.

The scenery at this beach is absolutely stunning. The beach itself is pleasant, although it would greatly benefit from a thorough cleaning to remove the litter. Unfortunately, there are no restroom facilities or designated areas for changing.

It's a small and pleasant spot to unwind, although I didn't get the opportunity to go for a swim. All in all, I would definitely recommend it as a place to relax. I can't forget to mention the breathtaking view of the sea and the city's harbor. Additionally, the seawalls are a safe option if you want to take a stroll and enjoy an even better view.
