Terrible, don't bother if you aren't Italian. Rude staff and really disgusting beach

Spiaggia La Marinella

They forgot to say that access to the beach is by elevator, very picturesque but in high season it can be a complication.

When exploring the charming island of Ischia, be sure to set aside some time to bask in the beauty of San Francesco and San Montano beaches. These picturesque stretches of coastline offer a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you're looking to soak up the sun, take a refreshing swim, or simply unwind with a good book, these beaches provide the perfect backdrop for relaxation. With crystal-clear waters and soft, sandy shores, San Francesco and San Montano are truly a paradise on earth. Don't miss the opportunity to experience these stunning beaches for yourself during your visit to Ischia.

San Montano Beach
10 Livia Marconi.

This beach is a serene and picturesque haven, perfect for those seeking a quieter escape from the hustle and bustle of other popular beaches like Chitara and Chiaia. To get here, I hopped on the Line 1 bus from South Forio to San Montana, which was a scenic 20-minute ride that only cost €1.50. It's worth noting that the bus can get quite crowded, so it's best to give yourself ample time to get there. As some have mentioned, there is both a paid and free section of the beach. I opted to save some money and found a cozy spot under the shaded wall on the far left from the entrance. However, there are only a limited number of these spots available (around 20-30), so it's best to arrive early if you want to snag one. The shade does expand throughout the day as the sun moves, so even if you can't find a spot in the shade initially, you may be able to later on. One thing to keep in mind is that there aren't any small shops selling personal umbrellas or parasols like you might find at Chitara or Chiaia, so come prepared if you want to bring your own. Lastly, there's a fantastic canteen and snack bar with plenty of hot food options to keep you fueled up for a day of relaxation and fun in the sun. Overall, this beach is a must-visit for anyone looking for a tranquil and serene beach experience.

Nerano Beach

Visit during the summer, in the late evening. The atmosphere is serene, tranquil, and refreshing, with no crowds. The lake is stunning and untouched.
