A favorite day out! We took the bus there and back. Be sure to bring your own drinks and snacks, and beach water shoes are a good idea. The sea was lovely. It's a very popular and busy spot, but you can walk around the rocks to find a more private area.

This was a spectacular day. We took the red A line bus from the train station in Sorrento, which cost about $3 for a round trip. After getting off the bus, we crossed the street and headed for the ruins. It's quite a long walk, so make sure to wear stable shoes and bring plenty of water. It's also a good idea to bring some food, although there is a small market at the bus stop where you can buy fruit, drinks, and other snacks. The walk itself is beautiful, with gorgeous homes tucked along the way. The water is great for swimming, but getting in and out can be tricky due to the sharp rocks near the shore. Be cautious of waves from passing boats when you're near the rocks. Bringing goggles is a good idea, as there are little fish to see. The best spot is past the bath area, where you'll find a large rock area with small pools and many rocks to swim around. We wore our Tevas the entire time.

I highly recommend this charming swimming hole just outside of downtown Sorrento. It's free and only a 6-7 minute scooter ride from the main part of Sorrento. The drive itself is stunning. I also suggest exploring the ruins above! There are trails that connect everything. Very cool. You can climb down to swim in this natural cove, and you can also follow the paths to exposed cliffs where people lay out on towels and there's a spot to jump into the water. This area is great for sunbathing and offers a sweeping view of the volcano and Sorrento coastline. From this side of the rock, you can actually swim through a large archway into the swimming hole.

A stunning spot for swimming, kayaking, sunbathing, and sightseeing located on the outskirts of Sorrento. This place is accessible for free; you just need to drive, walk, or take a taxi to get there. I rode my scooter from downtown Sorrento and arrived in about 6-7 minutes. The main pool is incredibly blue and beautiful. It can get a bit crowded with kayak tours during the summer, but it remains absolutely gorgeous. You can also safely cliff dive from reasonable heights in the area. If the main pool is too crowded, you can easily swim along the surrounding coastline. Just up the hill from the main swimming and hangout areas, there is a lovely walkable natural preserve filled with large trees and scenic vistas. I highly recommend that everyone visiting Sorrento make the very worthwhile trip to Bagni Regina Giovanna. It’s simply breathtaking!

Overall, it's quite nice, although seating is limited. The path from the road to the beach is long but pleasant; however, be cautious as scooters sometimes use the same route. We traveled from Sorrento to the beach by bus, which you can buy tickets for at the train station or any tobacco store for 1.5 euros each way. I would recommend taking the bus instead of walking, as walking alongside cars and buses can be unsafe.
