The beach experience in Florida has been negatively impacted by the Sargasso algae bloom, which may be caused by natural or agricultural run-off in the ocean. Unfortunately, this bloom has affected beach vacations in Florida. Additionally, it is disappointing that scammers try to collect fees and block beach access. While I understand that beach clubs charge fees for chairs and umbrellas, it is important to note that according to the law, the beach should be accessible within 20 meters from the highest tide point, even in front of beach clubs and resorts. The situation is even more disheartening because large operators essentially prevent locals from accessing their own beaches. It's a sad reality. However, there is an alternative route to the right of Mamita's (Calle 38 Norte), where you can go to the public beach. If anyone tries to stop you, simply inform them that you are heading to the public beach. Once there, you can comfortably sit in front of the Mamita club with your own beer. Although my companions and I paid the fees, we also had the opportunity to engage with locals who kindly explained this situation to us.
