This beach is being used for the exploitation of elephants. At this location, elephant trainers are seen 'washing' the elephants, allowing tourists to sit on them, take photos, and even bathe with them. The elephants are also coerced into performing tricks, such as posing for photos or falling into the water. This behavior constitutes animal abuse. It is important to spread awareness and refrain from supporting or paying for these activities if you care about the well-being of elephants. These animals did not naturally learn to interact with humans in this way. They belong in their natural habitat. It is crucial to use common sense and understand that the trainers do not carry sticks for amusement. Educate yourself on the treatment of these animals. Once they leave the beach, the elephants are chained for the rest of their lives. They are not meant for human entertainment.

2 Very poor

The beach offers a distressing view of mistreated elephants being forced to swim with tourists. The elephants are not there willingly, but are coerced by their handlers using sharp hooks. It is important to be aware of the cruelty behind these activities and not support them by taking pictures or riding the elephants. These animals are broken from a young age to serve the tourism industry, and it is crucial to educate oneself and not contribute to their exploitation.

The beach is absolutely stunning, with a small 200m stretch that makes it incredibly peaceful - I've never seen more than 15 people there at once. The sand is soft and the water is warm and crystal clear, making it the perfect spot to watch the sunset. The only drawback is that there are some stones scattered around, but if you look carefully, you can find areas without them.

The beach is not very deep, but if you walk out a bit, you can have a proper swim. Watch out for rocks (it's best to enter in the middle of the beach), but when we visited, the water was clear enough to see them and avoid them. There are adorable baby elephants in the sea that you can interact with and take photos with (for a fee). There are plenty of beach restaurants and bars to relax in, most of which are part of resorts. What's great about this beach area is that the main road behind the beach is easily accessible on foot, giving it a small beach village feel with more restaurants, a walking street market, and bars. The sea itself was somewhat clear and warm.

10 Exceptional

Kai Bae Beach is a popular spot with a prime commercial location, making it a bit busier. The sunsets are stunning, and you might even catch a glimpse of elephants wading in the ocean for photos. The sandy shore is spacious and safe in the shallower areas, but be cautious as it gets rocky further out. KB Resort offers a variety of bars and restaurants right on the beach for all your dining and drinking needs.
