As a child, I used to spend my holidays at this beach 45 years ago, and I am thrilled to report that it has only gotten better with time. The recent addition of a cafe at the entrance has made it convenient for visitors to bring their own food and drinks for the day or opt for the cafe's offerings. During our stay, the tides were fluctuating, resulting in a stretch of high, dry sand, followed by a line of rock pools, and then damp sand before the waves. As the tide rose, the rock pools became deep enough for some exciting snorkeling. This beach offers something for everyone, and it's a perfect place to spend a day with family and friends. However, it's worth noting that there is no lifeguard on duty.

This so-called beautiful beach might as well be on the moon for how far away it feels. Sure, there's a coffee shop nearby, but what's the point if you have to trek through the Sahara just to get there? And don't even get me started on the heat. Unless you want to feel like a rotisserie chicken, I suggest you steer clear of this place. But hey, if you're a glutton for punishment, go ahead and make the trek. Just don't say I didn't warn you.

The beach was easily accessible from the carpark, although the narrow lane leading up to it was not designed for larger vehicles. We encountered a few drivers struggling to navigate the tight space. However, once we arrived at the shingle beach, we were greeted with an abundance of shells and a quaint cafe. The only downside was the overpowering scent of seaweed that permeated the air. Despite this, our children were thrilled to spot some seals and quickly forgot about the unpleasant odor.

Cornwall's beach that I adore the most is not overly populated. It's a perfect spot for fishing, sunbathing, and swimming. During our rainy walk, we had the entire beach to ourselves! However, parking is not free, and the car park is small, so it's best to arrive early to secure a spot.
