Alnmouth boasts a picturesque sandy beach that is a favorite among vacationers and day-trippers alike. However, finding a parking spot can be a bit of a challenge. If you want to avoid the crowds, the best time to visit is in the evening when the majority of people have cleared out. Regardless of when you go, the beach is spacious enough to accommodate everyone, so go ahead and indulge in some seaside fun!

The beach offers a tranquil and serene setting with its soft, pristine sand that stretches out for miles. Its vast expanse provides ample space for visitors to unwind and bask in the sun's warmth. However, the occasional gusts of wind may require a windbreaker for those who are sensitive to the breeze. Compared to Bamburgh, the beach is conveniently located and can be reached quickly by foot. A range of delightful eateries are located nearby, making it easy to grab a refreshing drink or snack. While parking is available for free on the road, it may be limited due to the town's abundance of double yellow lines. Additionally, the car park's reviews suggest that it may not be suitable for low cars due to the presence of potholes.

If you're up for a bit of an adventure, the Northumberland coast has a hidden gem waiting for you. Sure, the North beach parking at the golf course can be a bit of a nightmare, with crowds and fees to contend with. But fear not, the South Beach is free - although you may need to navigate a treacherous gravel road to get there. Seriously, it's like something out of a post-apocalyptic movie, with giant potholes waiting to swallow up unsuspecting vehicles. If you're driving a monster truck, you'll be fine. But if you're in a regular car, prepare to risk life and limb. Assuming you survive the journey, you'll be rewarded with the best beach in the North East. And that's no exaggeration. The sand is soft, the water is clear, and the views are breathtaking. Plus, the village of Alnmouth is a charming little place, with cozy pubs and cafes serving up delicious treats. It's the perfect day out - as long as you don't mind a bit of danger and excitement. Oh, and one more thing - forget about using the North beach car park. The council has put up some wooden barriers to keep you out, which is a real shame. People are now parking along the main road and risking life and limb just to get to the beach. But hey, that's all part of the fun, right?

I was absolutely enamored with this beach. It was a vast expanse of unspoiled, pristine coastline that seemed almost deserted, despite the occasional passerby. The cleanliness of the area was impressive, and the fact that it was a nature reserve only added to its allure. I would highly recommend this beach for anyone looking for a refreshing and invigorating walk. However, I must admit, I am hesitant to share this secret gem with too many people. The Northumbrian coast is a hidden treasure that is best kept hidden.
