Located at the southern end of Sand Island, this beach is a decent spot with a lot of history. You'll find local fishermen, homeless people, and stray cats in the area, most of whom keep to themselves. However, some of the cats are friendly and enjoy attention. The beach is surrounded by rocks that protect it from larger waves, making it a great spot for snorkeling. The coral varies with the tide, so reef shoes could be useful but aren't essential. Overall, it's a lovely place to escape to.

The park is well-maintained, although it could use more water for the grass. It's a hidden gem that's worth visiting, especially since it's free to enter for the public. The only downside is that the bathroom is a porta potty and located nearby.

The beach is a serene and secluded cove that offers a different kind of snorkeling experience on calm days. It is home to a diverse range of endemic creatures that are not commonly found elsewhere. If you venture towards the right, you will find decent surfing opportunities where the swells are good. Additionally, there is an admirable coral restoration project underway beyond the break walls, although it is disheartening to see so much fishing line and lead scattered around. The beach tends to get crowded with locals on weekends, and the only available facilities are porta-johns, with no showers.

I have to admit, the beach was a bit unusual. However, it is worth noting that the beach offers free public entry, which is a great perk.

This beach is an excellent option for your final day in Honolulu as it's conveniently located near the airport. The best part is that it's rarely crowded, unlike Waikiki, so it's a perfect spot to relax before catching your flight from Daniel K. Additionally, it's worth noting that this beach has free public entry.
