On the 19th of October 2022, I unfortunately fell victim to theft while enjoying the beautiful beach scenery. The culprits managed to steal my car keys which were hidden under my cap, leaving me stranded for 24 hours without any money or clothes. To add insult to injury, the car rental company charged me $500 USD to change the locks, compounding my misfortune. It's a shame that such a stunning location can be marred by criminal activity.

Getting to this beach may require some skillful driving as the access road is a bit rocky, but the reward is worth it. The sound of the strong waves crashing against the shore is truly mesmerizing, and there are plenty of trees to provide shade and a place to relax. If you're up for a bit of adventure, you can even take a chopper (motorcycle) to get there. Alternatively, you can take a short drive through the mountain from Prieta to Playa Penca, where you'll find white sand and calmer waves, although shade may be limited. Overall, this beach is a hidden gem that's worth the effort to reach.
