Pitahaya Beach, just a short 5-minute drive south of Marbella, is a true paradise for children and adults alike. With its stunning views and special lookout point, it's the perfect spot to enjoy the vibrant sunsets that make this beach so special. The north section of the beach offers an incredible vantage point over the rocky terrain, while the south section boasts a variety of sand colors that are best seen during low tide. This is a beach that simply begs to be explored, with its wide expanse of sand and crystal-clear waters. Located in the District of Cuajiniquil, Canton of Santa Cruz and Province of Guanacaste, Pitahaya Beach is easily accessible by car. While the final 22-kilometer stretch of road leading to the beach may be dirt, a regular automobile can make the journey with ease. If you're looking for a beach where you can have some peace and quiet, this is the spot for you. It's not exactly a bustling hub of activity, but that's what makes it so appealing. The sand is pristine, the water is crystal clear, and there's plenty of space to stretch out and relax. And if you're a fan of swimming, you'll be in heaven – the water is just the right temperature and so refreshing. All in all, this is a little slice of paradise that's well worth a visit.

Although not ideal for swimming, this beach boasts an unparalleled serenity and natural beauty. Our visit was timed perfectly for the late afternoon light, imbuing the sand and volcanic rocks with a captivating allure. As the sun began to set at 6, the atmosphere became nothing short of enchanting.

4 Frustrating

If you're a fan of being completely alone, then this beach might be up your alley. The sand is a dull gray, and the water is so still that it's almost stagnant. There are a few spots where you can find some respite from the sun, but don't expect anything too fancy.
