6 Pleasant

On weekdays, this beach is a great spot to visit as it's free and not too crowded. The stunning view of Vesuvius and the neighboring islands adds to the charm of this place. However, the beach is plagued by litter and street vendors, which can be a major turn off for some visitors.

4 Frustrating

The sight of immense heaps of waste in the evening was a disheartening experience. Uncertain whether this is a customary practice in Naples, we spent a few days in the area. It is our fervent hope that these unsightly piles are eventually cleared up. Despite the stunning vista of the mountains, we can only award a two-star rating.

8 Very good

The beach is pleasant, but not exceptional. Unfortunately, there is an abundance of litter and plastic strewn about. However, the sand is remarkably soft and a deep shade of black. Walking on it is quite enjoyable, though it is advisable to wear beach shoes as the sand can become scorching hot. There is no admission fee, and there is an abundance of space to spread out and bask in the sun. The beach is also ideal for swimming, even with small children, as the water is clear and shallow for quite a distance. Additionally, there is a picturesque view of the Vesuvius in the distance. We highly recommend this beach.

2 Very poor

As others have mentioned, I prefer to experience things firsthand, and unfortunately, I found the beach to be littered with human debris. Nonetheless, the stunning black sand and crystal clear waters were truly breathtaking.

Do not be deceived by the sentimental reviews from the locals in Italy. The beach is unfortunately littered with garbage, with a landfill situated right behind it. It would be better to opt for the private beaches adjacent to it, despite the lack of crystal-clear water. At least you will not have to endure the sight of plastic straws and used diapers while soaking up the sun.
