4 Frustrating

Overall Experience: The service from all the staff is a perfect 10/10. However, I had to give an overall rating of 2 stars due to the room and resort conditions. Island Condition, 7/10: There are quite a lot of dead corals around, so be careful when walking barefoot. Resort Condition, 2/10: The resort looks rundown in some areas, and some rooms have issues with the electrical plugs. The swimming pool is cleaned periodically, which is good. However, the big spiders and their webs in many places, especially on the coconut trees, were quite scary for me. Food, 8/10: Compared to the standards in Terengganu, the food is actually good. My favorite meals were breakfast and dinner. The only downside is that the amount of food is made according to the number of guests, so come early to have more choices. Snorkeling, 6/10: The snorkeling experience was okay. There are blue corals, and one of the snorkeling spots my friends visited even had an airplane underwater. Service, 10/10: The staff service is excellent and helps offset many of the negative aspects of the resort. They are very helpful. If you really like a particular dish, you can request a refill. We asked for a guide from the reception to find the blue sand. The two brothers who guided us even went into the sea to bring up a rock containing blue plankton for us to see, even though there was no blue sand. Thank you. Overall Rating: 4.5/10. The food and service are good, but the room, resort, and island conditions are lacking. Recommendations: If you plan to come here for budget reasons, please lower your expectations regarding the bed and resort conditions. If you have a higher budget, consider other resorts like Summer Bay.

We visited during the off-peak season, so the service was slow, and the resort was very quiet. The room was poorly maintained and not very clean. The worst part was the bed bugs! Yes, bed bugs! My husband and I ended up with bites all over our bodies. The beach and water were littered with dead corals, and the water was too shallow for swimming unless you walked a considerable distance towards the ocean. To have a proper swim and snorkel, you had to go to the neighboring 5-star hotel. However, the staff, especially those handling water activities, were friendly and hospitable, which is why I didn't give a 1-star rating.

2 Very poor

D'coconut used to be our favorite spot when we visited Malaysia. However, during our trip in April 2023, we noticed a significant decline due to poor management and lack of maintenance. Once a stunning resort in paradise, it is now nearing a state of disrepair. While the staff is friendly, they lack the hospitality experience that the website promises. It's disheartening to see such a beautiful resort deteriorate. The beach and the island remain breathtaking, but for the price, it's better to stay at a different hotel. Unless the owner invests in creating a proper restaurant, a nice beach bar, a good pool, and refurbishing all the rooms and chalets, we won't be returning at the same price.

8 Very good

This place is absolutely stunning. My family and I had a wonderful time here. We visited outside of peak hours, after the school holidays. Service - Excellent External resort - Gorgeous Rooms - Spacious and large, though cleanliness could be improved. The water pressure is excellent. Food - Delicious. They served us tasty meals every day. View - A hidden gem. I hope they have sufficient funds to maintain and upgrade the property. Overall, this place is fantastic, especially for the price you pay.

6 Pleasant

Dcoconut Visited for a 3D2N trip with a full package from holidaygogo. Pros: The location is ideal—close to the beach but far enough to ensure a quiet and peaceful sleep away from the waves. The food is superb, offering a wide variety of very tasty options. The sea breeze adds to the comfort of the great location. Cons: While the beach boasts crystal clear water, the shore is littered with dead corals, making it painful and difficult to walk into the sea. The restaurant is plagued by flies and mosquitoes, which detracts from the dining experience. The rooms and pool are quite run down due to a lack of maintenance. Issues include a rusty toilet, algae in the pool, and dim lighting in the room. Overall, the room and compound are not well-maintained. Recommendation: Consider buying wearable shoes for swimming in the ocean. It's also advisable to bring your own snorkel mask, as renting one costs RM12 per day. I really hope the management addresses the dead corals and flies—perhaps by removing the corals and installing measures to control the flies. I don't think I'll visit here again. For those considering resorts in Lang Tengah, I recommend Summer Bay. I've visited all the resorts on the island, and Summer Bay remains the best. It's worth spending a bit more for comfort and enjoyment on your holiday trip.
