This place is fantastic with two beaches. It's great to take a stroll and grab a cup of coffee by the beach. You can hear the waves, which makes it incredibly peaceful.

Calheta beach is divided into two sides, and I visited the first side upon entering. Unfortunately, it wasn't my ideal beach as the area designated for chairs and parasols was quite small, and both the sand and water were rocky. This made it difficult for me to play with my children as my foot was hurting. We ended up purchasing water shoes in case all the beaches in Madeira have stones. Despite this, I still appreciated the beauty of Calheta beach, although it wasn't the most comfortable or accommodating. The important thing was that my kids had a good time. Additionally, the beach provides information on UV rays and encourages people not to litter, and there is a lifeguard on duty for everyone's safety.

The beach was well-built and I personally preferred the smaller side due to the presence of a lovely bar. However, there were a few stones scattered throughout the sand and the sand itself could get quite hot, so I would suggest wearing water shoes. The rental prices for sunbeds and umbrellas were reasonable at around 2 and 1.50 euros respectively.

This beach boasts soft, golden sand that was transported all the way from the Sahara desert. Despite being man-made, it exudes a natural feel. It's the perfect spot for families with children as the water is calm with no waves. You won't be fighting for space either, as it's not too crowded. Entry is free, but sunbeds can be rented for a reasonable price of 4 euros for two people.

This beach is a great option for those looking for a man-made beach with two ends. The break walls make swimming easy, and entry is free unless you want to rent sunbeds. There are plenty of clean toilets and cafes at both ends, and they are reasonably priced. When it comes to parking, blue bays and lines require payment and display of a ticket, while yellow lines are free all day. We were able to find a lay-by under the cliff that had its blue lines removed, so it was free (confirmed with a local). Although there is plenty of blue bay parking, yellow and free spaces are limited.
