This beach is a real treasure! The sand is stunning and there are striking black lava rocks scattered throughout. It's not too crowded and the surrounding mountains add to the picturesque view. The waves are quite powerful, making it entertaining to observe the tide pools. Additionally, there are restrooms and a food truck available. The drive to get there is definitely worth it!

The beach was stunning and even had monk seals to add to the relaxing atmosphere. Unfortunately, the surf was too rough for snorkeling during my visit, but it was still worth the effort of reserving entry.

Located inside Ha'ena State Park, Ke'e beach is the final beach on the north shore. If you plan on entering the parking lot, it's important to purchase a parking ticket in advance. However, there is also a shuttle system available for transportation. Once you arrive, you'll enjoy a lovely 1-mile walk through a beautiful walkway (check out the pictures!). Thanks to the reef lagoon, the water is calm and perfect for snorkeling. Additionally, they provide convenient showers and bathrooms.

The beach can be found in Hanea State Park and while it may not be particularly large, the water was calm during my visit with a slight east to west current. While the snorkeling was decent, it didn't quite compare to Anini Beach. However, it's worth noting that a lifeguard was on duty, which is reassuring given the flat swimming conditions thanks to the waves breaking at the reef. The sand was quite hot, so be sure to bring some sort of footwear to make your way to the water. It's also worth noting that the sand is a bit coarser than the fine powder sand found in other destinations like the Caribbean. Overall, it's a great spot to cool off after a strenuous hike in the park.

The parking situation at this beach is a bit strange, which makes it less crowded and attracts mostly hikers. It's a fantastic spot to catch a sunset after a hike, and you may even encounter some friendly chickens.
