This beach offers a sense of seclusion, as if you have the entire coconut beach area to yourself. There is a convenient pullout right along Kuhio highway on the northwest corner of the beach. It also has a fantastic picnic area on an elevated grassy spot, creating a peaceful atmosphere. However, it's important to note that this beach can be very dangerous for swimming, especially in the western section. The shorebreak is extremely powerful, and the beach slopes steeply from 1 foot to over 10 feet, making it impossible to touch the ground. Although it may appear calm from the road and beach, it's actually quite challenging to stay afloat, as the current constantly tries to push you towards the rocky shoreline. As an experienced and strong swimmer, I tested the waters before bringing my wife along, and I found myself nearly exhausted after a short time. It was a struggle to make it back to shore, and I only managed to do so after a few minutes of intense effort. Therefore, it's important to be cautious. Signs warning about the dangers should be placed there. Remember to never swim alone, and in Hawaii, steeply sloped beaches and strong shorebreaks are indicators of undertows or strong lateral currents. Despite this, we still enjoyed our day at this beautiful location, even though we stayed out of the water.
