This stunning beach boasts black sand that's sure to take your breath away. However, before you can access the road leading to the beach, you'll need to wait until 7:00 for the guard to open the gate, as the road runs through a private neighborhood. If you plan on driving, be aware that the parking lot is small, so arriving early in the day is highly recommended.

Nestled away behind a secure gated community, this beach is a tranquil haven that only permits a select number of visitors to ensure a peaceful atmosphere (limited parking is available, so arrive early). Mindful of the local residents, please be courteous during your stay. Aside from these considerations, the beach boasts pristine sands and crystal-clear waters that teem with a variety of fish, making it an ideal spot for snorkeling. Additionally, the on-site facilities, including the restroom, are immaculately maintained.

In person, this beach surpasses expectations. The tranquility and seclusion it exudes is unparalleled. The sand is velvety soft underfoot, while the water is clear as crystal. It's a snorkeler's paradise, with an abundance of fish within a mere 20-50 feet from the shore. What I loved most about this beach was how calm the water was, with no waves to disrupt the serenity. Unlike many other beaches in Hawaii, where sharp reefs can make it challenging to enter the water without injuring your feet, this beach boasts a smooth and sandy bottom with a gentle slope leading to the reef. It's the perfect spot for swimming and effortless snorkeling.
