The beach offers a rare combination of white and black lava rocks, creating a truly distinct and captivating sight. It's unlike anything I've ever seen before and definitely worth a visit. Additionally, there are petroglyphs located nearby, adding to the cultural and historical significance of the area. And if that wasn't enough, there's also an ancient Hawaiian pond in close proximity, making this beach a must-see destination for both nature and history enthusiasts.

It would have been great if the signage was clearer. Unfortunately, I missed the field of petroglyphs as it appeared to be the end of the trail. I had to turn back and it was quite frustrating. Moreover, the petroglyphs I did see seemed to have been arranged for the purpose of viewing and did not feel genuine.

This beach park is an absolute gem. Located a short distance away from Kona, it's a simple drive up the coast to reach it. As you make your way towards the park, the road leading up to it is a sight to behold. It's as if you've been transported to another world, with volcanic rock boulders dotting the landscape. Once you arrive, you'll be greeted with stunning hiking paths that run parallel to the ocean. There are plenty of shaded areas along the way, perfect for taking a break and soaking in the beauty of the waves crashing against the shore.

The beach was nothing special, just a mix of sand and rocks. I had to endure the sight of some people surfing and even spotted a young sea turtle, but it was not enough to make up for the lack of excitement. I stayed till the sunset, but all I got was a whale breaching far away. Overall, it was a forgettable experience, not worth the effort to make any memories.
