This beach is rocky and secluded, located at the bottom of a steep and winding neighborhood road. With only a handful of visitors, it feels like a private slice of Hawai'i. The main attraction is the snorkeling, as the drop-off makes it unsuitable for bodyboarding or wading in the sandbar.

Although there is a sign indicating private property, there is still public access to the beach. However, parking is limited with only three spots available, so it's best to arrive early. As mentioned by others, the drive down to the beach is steep, but the stunning sunset and sound of the waves crashing make it worth the effort. We were even lucky enough to spot dolphins! Keep in mind that this beach is not ideal for snorkeling unless you are an experienced swimmer.

This beach is truly exceptional. As the name implies, there is no sand to be found here, but the smooth, circular pebbles more than make up for it. The sound of the waves gently tumbling the stones back and forth with the ebb and flow of the tide is both mesmerizing and calming. The road leading to the beach is quite steep, with a significant change in elevation, but the payoff is well worth it. During our visit, there were only a handful of other beachgoers, which made for an incredibly peaceful and rejuvenating experience. This is an ideal spot to capture some stunning photographs, enjoy a leisurely lunch, and simply unwind."

The beach boasts a stunning view of medium-sized black pebbles that make for a picturesque sight. It is an ideal spot for those who love swimming in deep water, snorkeling, and scuba diving. However, it may not be suitable for those who prefer to wade in shallow water as there is only a limited area of shallow water, approximately 10 ft, before the floor drops immediately to 20 ft. Walking on the pebbles in the shallow water can be challenging as your feet will sink deep. Nonetheless, the deeper waters are perfect for swimming. For scuba diving enthusiasts, this beach is a must-visit as it offers a unique experience with its interesting rock formations that are not commonly found in other Big Island diving sites. The beach's remote location ensures that it remains quiet and peaceful, with fewer tourists around. Overall, this beach is a great spot for those who love deep water activities and want to enjoy a serene environment.

Our Favorite Beach with Endless Activities! Snorkeling, Wave Riding, Cliff Jumping, Fishing, and Rumored to Have Incredible Scuba Diving. Don't Forget Your Water Shoes, as the Pebbles Can Be Quite Large and Challenging to Walk on Barefoot.
